VIDEO PRODUCTION CLASS
Geared to Help Parents Videotape Their Children’s Events
A two-part Video Production class will be held on Wednesdays, September 23 and 30, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for parents interested in quality taping of their children’s events. The class will introduce the finer points of capturing an event on video.
The September 23rd class will be provided by Community Media Network staff at their studio located at 1230 Souter in Troy. The class will cover:
- Video camera operation
- Shot composition
- Camera movement
- Interview techniques
- Lighting considerations
- How to cover sports events
- Microphone types and use
- Editing workflow basics
The September 30th class will be taught by WOAK staff at Royal Oak High School. WOAK is the Royal Oak Schools local cable access channel. The class will feature:
- Connecting cameras, microphones and intercoms to the TriCaster
- TriCaster training for WOAK productions
- Operating instructions for WOAK Panasonic cameras
Participants interested in further developing their skills may volunteer as WOAK crew members in the actual taping of Royal Oak Schools events. Participants will also be invited to submit programs for possible airing on WOAK.
