Northwood PTA Health & Wellness will be holding a health fair on Friday, February 12, 2010 in the school cafeteria. The fair will run from 6:30pm until 8pm. Some of the organizations attending the health fair are listed below:
Trader Joe’s- healthy snacks
Oberweis – benefits of milk
Jessica’s gluten free granola
OCC Mobile Nurses – blood pressure, glucose screening, hand wash station
Safety City – 911 simulator, community education programs
Royal Oak Prevention Coalition – substance abuse prevention
Beaumont Hospital – poison control
Karmanos – Skin cancer prevention
Van Every Chiropractic Center
Children’s Hospital – car seat safety, bike helmet safety
Royal Oak YMCA
In addition, there will be fun activities for the kids to participate in and prizes to be won. Prizes include free skate passes, 1 month of swimming at Goldfish Swim School, 3 month pass to the Royal Oak YMCA, fire extinguishers and more! This is from the school year 2009/2010. Our Health and Wellness committee is very active, so there are many activities planned I am just not sure about another fair. We will be updating the site with new events.
