Michigan PTA Responds to Attack by Protecting Michigan Taxpayers
This is Not Politics…It is Simply Bad Behavior
Dear Michigan PTA Members,
Since the Michigan PTA Board of Directors announced its support of Proposal 2 and opposition to Proposal 5, we have received numerous comments, pro and con. We value the feedback we have received and all comments have been shared with the entire Board.
I have heard from a few members and non-members who believe that we paid for the TV commercial that we participated in. This is simply not true. Michigan PTA has not contributed any financial support to the Proposal 2 campaign. Our members’ dues money is used to benefit the members that we serve.
You may have already heard the unwarranted attack on Michigan PTA by the coalition opposing Proposal 2. Protecting Michigan Taxpayers sidestepped from discussing the issues to generate false allegations against our Association. This is a bullying tactic and Michigan PTA is issuing a press release in response to those allegations. Attached you will find the Gongwer article with PMT’s unfounded statements and the press release from Michigan PTA in response.
I truly appreciate the advocacy and hard work that takes place in each of our local PTA’s. Despite differing opinions on this issue, PTA volunteers continue to do amazing work that improves the lives of children, parents and families across our great state.
