What percentage of the collected pledges is kept with the school?
We have been able to collect enough donations from local business to cover our costs to ensure that 100% of the money brought in by the children remains with the school. The money will go directly to the PTA’s general fund and will be allocated out to the various committes based on the approved budget.
Will my child be able to participate in the Fun Run even if he/she doesn’t collect any pledges?
Absolutely. Each child will receive a “Northwood 2010″ rubber bracelet and a goodie bag including a $10 gift certificate to Creative Arts Studio, a Buy One Get One Free bowling game, and a variety of materials from our business sponsors. They will also be able to participate in the actual Fun Run with their class. We understand how difficult times are right now and want to be as compassionate as possible to everyone’s individual situation.
How will my child be participating in the Fun Run?
The actual Fun Run will be held on school grounds throughout the day on Friday, October 29th. The children will be escorted to the race course, 2 grades at a time, for 40 minutes of warm up, running/walking, and cool down. The entire event will conclude in enough time to allow for afternoon Halloween parties. Parents are invited to come out and watch their children during this fun event. Specific times are posted on the Fun Run homepage.

How did we do last year?
Last year, we brought in a total of $17,009 from the Fun Run. Local sponsors covered the entire cost of the event so 100% of the money brought in by the students went directly to the PTA. Because of this success, we have decided to make previous fundraisers (Apple Fun Fair, Spirit ware sales, Family Fun Night) into break-even events. That is why it is imperative that you participate in this biggest fundraiser of the year. The funds brought in through this event cover our costs for the rest of the year. Our school-wide goal this year is $20,000.
