Last Day for Spirit Wear Orders
The Northwood Spirit Store is now OPEN!
Our online Spirit Store is now open! Please place your order by Monday, September 21st to guarantee it before the Fun Run. We will open up the store again this fall to accommodate those holiday orders, and NEW items will be added at that point, so if you miss this first ordering round no worries - you will have another chance!

Northwood Family Night at Keyworth Stadium!
Join us on Saturday October 10, 2026 at 4:00pm as Northwood heads to Keyworth Stadium to cheer on Detroit City FC and enjoy an afternoon with fellow Northwood families!

PTA Meeting
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Northwood Cafeteria (enter through north playground entrance)
Childcare is available in the gym for students during in-person PTA meetings.
PTA meetings are a great way to stay connected to what’s happening at our school and in our district. At each meeting, you’ll hear:
PTA Event Updates — Committee chairs will share updates on upcoming events, programs, and ways families can get involved.
School Updates — Our principal will provide important information and updates about what’s happening at school.
District Updates — A school board member will share news and updates from the district and help keep families informed about broader issues affecting our schools.
Come for the updates, stay connected, and learn how you can be part of our school community!

This event is for families of current Northwood students and is not a drop-off event, guardians must stay the entire time.

Cultural Arts Assembly: Wonders of Michigan Assembly
The Magical Wonders of Michigan assembly brings learning to life with laughter, amazement, and plenty of state pride! Magical entertainer Eugene Clark takes students on an interactive journey through Michigan’s geography, history, and people using magic, humor, and colorful visual props. From the Great Lakes and early French settlers to modern-day cities and government, students discover what makes Michigan unique.
With the help of student volunteers, the 45-minute program explores Michigan’s agriculture, including apples, cherries, and honey, as well as the state flower, animal, and rock. A favorite moment features students creating a magical snow storm while learning about Michigan’s four seasons.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community — and especially the funds raised through our annual Fun Run — the PTA is excited to offer this event free of charge to Northwood Families.

Cultural Arts Assembly: Author Visit for Reading Month
In celebration of Reading Month, we are thrilled to welcome Maria Dismondy to Northwood!
During her visit, students will have the opportunity to learn about the entire process of writing a book — from the very first idea to the final published copy. Maria will also share valuable lessons she has learned along her journey as an author, encouraging young writers to dream big and persevere.
