Calling all Northwood artists!

Do you enjoy art, music, dance, writing, taking photos, or producing videos? Showcase your creativity by participating in the National PTA Reflections Art Program. This year’s theme is I Belong!

Need inspiration? Sign up to participate in an after-school art workshop on Monday, 11/10 or Friday, 11/14. Workshops will be held in the Art Room and are limited to 20 students and 4 approved parent volunteers (please only sign your child/self up for one workshop). All supplies needed to create a compliant piece of visual artwork will be provided by the Northwood PTA.

In addition to visual arts, students may create artwork at home in the literature, photography, music composition, dance choreography and film production categories. An entry form complete with an artist statement must be included with each submission. Please refer to the Official Reflections Guidelines for more information on size/content requirements, tips for creating artwork in line with the theme, and crafting a strong artist statement.

All Reflections artwork is due by Tuesday, 11/25 (before Thanksgiving) and will be blindly judged based on creativity, skill/technique, and how well it relates to the theme.

Artwork will be proudly displayed inside the school after the holidays and winners will be announced on the NBS News at the end of January. All student artists will receive a Reflections certificate and participation prize. The top two winners from each age group and art category will receive an additional gift and go on to compete at States/Nationals for a chance at a scholarship!
