First Monthly PTA Meeting:
The first PTA meeting of the school year will be Monday, September 14th at 7:00 pm in the Northwood Cafeteria. Childcare will be provided onsite.

Your PTA membership now includes access to the Northwood Family & Student Directory!
Looking to connect with other Northwood families? The directory is now available exclusively to PTA members. Joining the PTA is a simple way to support Northwood while staying connected to the families and community around you.
Join the PTA and get connected!
The Family Directory helps you connect with other Northwood families, while the new Student Directory makes it easier to find your child's classmates and friends.
Step 1: Add or update your family
First, make sure your family information is up to date.
Go to Account → Directory Settings
Select Manage Family → Add Child
Under Organizations, select Northwood Elementary PTA
Add your child's grade level
Select Add Child
Tip: Adding your child's grade helps families find classmates and friends in the Student Directory.
Step 2: Choose what information to share
Next, choose what information you want other PTA members to see in the Family Directory.
Go to Account → Directory Settings
Select Northwood Elementary PTA
Turn on Visible in Directory
Choose whether you want to display your email address and/or phone number
Select Save Changes
You control what information is shared. Only information you choose to make visible will appear in the directory.

You do not have to do it all alone! Many of these positions can be supported by a committee or a few parent volunteers. Whether you have lots of time or just want to help with one event, your involvement makes a difference.

Join The PTA -Your Way!
The only requirement to be a PTA member is paying the annual membership dues. What you do beyond that is completely up to you!
We know family schedules are busy, especially for working parents and caregivers. You don’t have to attend meetings or volunteer at school to be part of the PTA.
Choose what works for you:
Join: Pay your annual membership dues and support the PTA.
Volunteer at school: Help with events or activities when your schedule allows.
Volunteer from home: Help with projects you can do on your own time.
Attend a meeting: Stay informed, share your ideas, and have a voice in our school community.
Get more involved: Join a committee or take on a PTA leadership role.
There’s no one way to PTA. Every level of involvement makes a difference.

Let’s celebrate the start of a new school year together! Join us on September 11th at 6pm on the South Playground for an all-school Ice Cream Social hosted by the PTA, filled with sweet treats, friendly faces, and plenty of fun. Come say hello, meet other Northwood families, and kick off the new school year together!
Northwood Family Night at Keyworth Stadium!
Join us on Saturday October 10,2026 at 4:00pm as Northwood heads to Keyworth Stadium to cheer on Detroit City FC and enjoy an afternoon with fellow Northwood families!

Interested in volunteering in a classroom, or at one of the PTA events?
Please be sure to complete the mandatory volunteer form here and return to the Northwood office. This form needs to be completed with every new school year and takes approximately two weeks to process.
